January 24, 2014 deVerse

deVerse  Prompt:  Tell me a story

Summer At Aunt Maggie’s Farm
School’s out
Little girl
Barefoot
Thin cotton dress
Made by hand
Soft wind blows
Through
Openings
Of the barn
Hay stacked high
Bits of glass
Glitter in the yard
Prairie as far as you
Can see
Hot
Summer
Dried grass
Dirt dobbers
Drone in and out
Architects of
Mud castles
Sweet breath
Soft muzzle
Of calves
In the kitchen
Smell of fresh
Baked bread
Homemade butter

it def does not help that i am hungry bacause i am totally stuck on home made bread and butter....mmmm....nice description...and it allows my imagination fill in remembering my own summer days...not in a dress, but off on an adventure...smiles.
