October 13, 2013 Sunday Whirl #130

(Image from the internet)

Right to the edge
Born for nothing less
There are so many bends
And circles
Is it a drunkard's path

Your idea trumps
All others
Thunder claps in
The distance
Pray for rain

Extinction of the world
Predicted
Yet we are sleepy
When it comes
To solutions

Dry up and blow away

I am not a phophet
Just an artist
One who makes
Pictures and mends hearts

Prompt:edge, trumps, drunkard, world, mends, binds
prophet, born, expected, circles, sleepy, thunder

...isn't that the truth!

Damn this is good, Annell. I love this part best, because there is so much truth in it:
"Extinction of the world
Predicted
Yet we are sleepy
When it comes
To solutions
Dry up and blow away"

making pictures and mending hearts is a high calling
and we need someone with new ideas...
and not just the old ones in new packaging...

I'm not a prophet or a superman..just a mortal with potential of a superman (or in your case woman)..David Bowie..but even more special in your hands and words..

I enjoyed this…the idea of not being a prophet but an artist. THAT you are!

beautiful and sorrowful... perhaps our poems and art do help in ways we don't yet understand... awareness is a good motivator.

I. LOVE. THIS. POEM. Yes, we're sleepy when it comes to solutions. Wonderful write, Annell! "I am not a prophet, just an artist." A wise one.

Let's hope he can engage reverse when he gets back in his car. Strangely it is the curiousity of mankind that has allowed their advance for eons, yet no-one has questioned the goal, except perhaps this man in the picture!

We are indeed sleepy when it comes to solutions, but thankful for those like you who can make pictures (and poems!) and mend hearts. A very high calling, indeed.
